Recording Modes in Detail

Buds Mode (Earphones in Ears)

Put on the earbuds and start a recording from the app, or the system auto-detects calls. Best for:
  • Phone interviews
  • 1-on-1 conversations
  • On-the-go note-taking
Dual mics + ENC noise cancellation isolate your voice from background noise.

Case Mode (Earbuds in Closed Case)

Place the closed case on a meeting table. Double-tap the case button to start recording. Best for:
  • Conference room meetings
  • Lectures and seminars
  • Group discussions
The case’s dual digital microphones capture a 5–10 m radius with AI noise reduction running in real time.
TicNote Pods 4G exclusive: When 4G is active and you start case-mode recording, the AI begins generating a Live Summary in real time. Within 30 seconds of ending the meeting, a Quick Summary (key decisions, action items, speakers) is pushed to your phone.

Network Connectivity (Pods 4G)

This section applies to TicNote Pods 4G only. TicNote Pods (Wi-Fi version) relies on your phone’s network connection.

How Pods 4G Selects a Network

TicNote Pods 4G automatically prioritizes the best available connection in this order:
  1. 4G (eSIM) — highest priority when 4G signal is available. Enables real-time cloud upload and Live Summary.
  2. Wi-Fi — used when 4G is unavailable or manually disabled. Files upload after recording completes.
  3. Bluetooth (via phone) — fallback when neither 4G nor Wi-Fi is reachable. Files sync when your phone reconnects.
  4. Offline cache — if all connections fail, recordings are stored locally in the 32 GB case storage and sync automatically later.

Switching Between 4G and Wi-Fi

You can manually turn 4G on or off from the TicNote app:
1

Open the TicNote app

Make sure your Pods 4G is connected and powered on.
2

Go to Device Settings

Tap the device icon for your Pods 4G on the app home screen, then tap Device Settings (gear icon).
3

Toggle 4G Network

Find the 4G Network toggle. Turn it on to enable 4G cellular; turn it off to use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth only.
4

Confirm the change

The status indicator on the case LED will reflect the active connection. When 4G is off, the device automatically falls back to Wi-Fi (if available) or Bluetooth.

4G vs Wi-Fi: What Changes

Turn off 4G when you are in a Wi-Fi environment to nearly double your battery life — from ~12 h to ~22 h recording time.

Tips for Best Results

Place the case in the center of the table with the button/mic side facing upward. Avoid covering the case or placing it near loud objects (fans, projectors).
In noisy environments, TicNote Pods automatically applies dual-mic ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) and AEC (Acoustic Echo Cancellation). If the other party reports poor audio, move away from the noise source.
When 4G is active, audio streams directly to the cloud during recording — enabling Live Summary. When on Wi-Fi only, audio uploads after recording completes (no Live Summary, but Quick Summary still runs post-meeting). If both fail, recordings cache in the 32 GB case storage and sync later.
  • Turn off 4G when you only need Wi-Fi to extend battery significantly (22 h vs 12 h recording)
  • Store in the case when not in use — the case charges the buds automatically
