# FAQ — TicNote Lite

## Setup & Pairing

    1. Install the TicNote app (App Store or Google Play)
    2. Press the power button 0.5 s — the OLED shows the Bluetooth icon
    3. In the app, tap **"+ Add Device"** and let it scan
    4. Tap your device when it appears — done!
    5. Hold the power button 2 s to start your first recording

    * Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and the device is within 5 m of your phone
    * Long press the power button for 15 s to reboot the device, then retry

    * Toggle Bluetooth off and back on
    * Make sure you're on the latest app version

  <Accordion title="Q4. What do the hardware switch positions mean on Lite?">
    TicNote Lite does not have a physical mode-switch (that's a TicNote Standard feature). There is only one recording mode. The power button is the only hardware control.

## Audio Quality

    * Keep the device within 1–5 m of the speakers
    * Make sure nothing is blocking the microphone openings
    * Check that the case isn't covering the mics

    * Charge to full before long sessions
    * Check battery level in the app before recording
    * Wi-Fi quick-transfer draws power — disable it when not actively transferring

    TicNote Lite's AI noise reduction is automatic. Tips:

    * Place the device closer to the speaking source
    * Avoid positioning near fans, AC vents, or keyboards

  <Accordion title="Q8. What is mic gain and how do I adjust it?">
    Microphone gain is automatically managed by the AI noise reduction algorithm. There is no manual gain control on TicNote Lite.

## Hardware

    Push the device out gently from the bottom edge. The sleeve loosens slightly with regular use.

  <Accordion title="Q11. Phone screen goes black when attaching TicNote">
    The magnetic field can trigger the proximity sensor on some phones. Try repositioning the card slightly.

  <Accordion title="Q12. How do I hardware reset?">
    Long press the power button for **15 seconds**. The device reboots. No recordings are deleted.

  <Accordion title="Q13. How do I unbind the device while I still have it?">
    Go to **App Settings → Devices → \[Your Lite device] → Unbind**. After unbinding, the device's local storage is cleared.

  <Accordion title="Q14. How do I turn it off?">
    TicNote Lite stays in low-power standby (20+ days). Long pressing the power button toggles recording, not power off. This is by design to ensure you're always ready to record.

    * Make sure you're pressing for the full 2 seconds
    * If battery is flat, charge for 15+ minutes before trying again
    * Long press 15 s to force reboot

## Charging & Battery

    * Confirm you're using the **included proprietary magnetic cable** — standard USB-C won't work
    * Check the magnetic pins for debris
    * Try a different USB power adapter

    Force-sync by pulling down to refresh in the app, or toggle Bluetooth off/on.

    20+ days assumes Bluetooth is idle and Wi-Fi quick-transfer is off. Enable airplane-mode-equivalent settings if you're not using the device for extended periods.

    Swipe left on any recording in the app and tap **Delete**, or use bulk select mode.

  <Accordion title="Q22. Privacy and security?">
    Data is stored on US cloud infrastructure and never used for AI model training. Hardware storage is automatically wiped after unbinding.

  <Accordion title="Q23. Where do I download the app?">
    App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) — search **TicNote**.

  <Accordion title="Q24. Wi-Fi quick-transfer not working">
    Make sure phone and device are on the same Wi-Fi network. Toggle Wi-Fi quick-transfer in app settings, then retry.
