# Quick Start

> Get up and running with TicNote in 5 minutes.

## Welcome to TicNote

TicNote is your AI-powered recording and knowledge system. This guide walks you through everything from unboxing to your first AI-organized note.

## Step 1: Download the TicNote App

After installing, **create a free account** or sign in with Google/Apple.

## Step 2: Pair Your TicNote Device

    Connect the magnetic charging cable. The LED blinks while charging and stays solid when full (approx. 2 hours).

  <Step title="Open the TicNote App">
    Tap **"My TicNote"** in the bottom navigation, then **"Bind Device"**.

  <Step title="Enable Bluetooth">
    Make sure Bluetooth is on. On iOS, also allow TicNote access in **Settings → TicNote → Bluetooth**.

  <Step title="Confirm binding">
    Your device screen shows **"Binding…"** then **"Bound"**. You're connected!

  Having trouble? Make sure the device shows "Ready to bind" on its screen. If not, long-press the power button for 15–25 seconds to reset.

## Step 3: Make Your First Recording

1. **Press the power button once** — the LED turns solid red and the screen shows recording status
2. **Speak naturally** — TicNote captures everything within \~10 meters
3. **Press again to stop** — the file syncs to your phone automatically

Once synced, TicNote's AI begins transcribing in the background.

## Step 4: Explore AI Features

After transcription completes (usually 1–3 minutes), open the recording to see:

| Feature          | What it does                            |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **Auto Summary** | Key points, decisions, and action items |
| **Mind Map**     | Visual overview of topics discussed     |
| **Aha Moments**  | Hidden insights the AI surfaced         |
| **Shadow AI**    | Ask questions about your recording      |

## Step 5: Organize with Projects

Group related recordings into a **Project** to unlock the full power of Shadow AI:

1. Tap **"Projects"** in the app
2. Tap **"+"** to create a new project (e.g., "Q3 Client Meetings")
3. Add recordings to the project by dragging or using **"Move to Project"**
4. Ask Shadow AI questions across all recordings in the project

  Projects work best when you consistently add related recordings. Shadow AI gets smarter as more context builds up.
